Caroline Eklund is a Swedish mask maker. Where does she get her inspiration? From nightmares I assume. She has a nightmare. Makes some nightmarish masks. Then I have a nightmare. I make a mask. And before you know it everybody’s got nightmares and masks. Please make it stop. I just want to see human faces again. *sobbing*

Fun fact: At first I typed feces instead of faces. No, I do not want to see human feces again.

Oh, look. A bunch of creepy-ass moss people. These are Moss People Sculptures by Kim Simonsson. They are terrifying and I’m pretty sure they are born on the side of a tree before they start walking around the forest looking for people like you and me. Luckily I don’t walk in the forest. What am I, a hippie? I walk from the fridge back to the TV like a normal person.

What do we have here? This piece of Weird Fetus Art is… all wrong. Good to know. We got some lightning striking the demon-looking fetus in the womb, some various organs, some weird alien stuff for the kid to sit on and chill… It’s pretty ominous. I don’t like to judge art, but the artist themselves have already proclaimed it “all wrong”. Saves me a few sentences. Is that thing with the green ooze the bladder? Oh man, somebody’s gonna piss fire and the kid is at the controls.

Hold the phone! The Plague Doctor is in the house and now he can be in yours! If you really want him around, that is. This folk horror inspired illustration of a Plague Doctor is artwork based on an original pen and ink drawing. A plague doctor was a medical physician who was sent to “treat” victims of the bubonic plague. They wore a special outfit with this terrifying beak, to protect the doctor from the poisonous vapors of the disease. Plus, they just like to look like birds. The mask would be stuffed with herbs and spices. Not 11 secret herbs and spices. So it didn’t smell like KFC. The presence of the plague doctor meant that death was imminent.
